THE MIND’S JOURNEY
Couples & Individual Counseling
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and EMDR
Compassionate, skilled care
The Mind’s Journey is a group practice led by MacKay Crookston, LPC, and supported by an additional therapist who is a Counseling Intern Therapist. Together, the practice offers caring, relationship-centered support for individuals and couples seeking meaningful change.
MacKay brings experience in EMDR and EFT, while the practice as a whole emphasizes compassionate, client-centered care for trauma, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, and personal growth in a safe, judgment-free setting.

Emotionally Focused Therapy
If you’re looking to deepen your personal connections, manage emotional challenges, strengthen your sense of self as a confident and competent person, and improve your family or romantic relationships, Emotionally Focused Therapy will be a transformative choice.
EFT stands out due to its focus on emotions and how we manage and use them. This approach helps people track and make sense of their feelings as well as their partner’s, leading to healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
Research studies find that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements.

EMDR
Sometimes life leaves us carrying experiences that continue to shape how we feel, respond, and connect with others long after they’ve happened. EMDR is a gentle, research-supported approach that helps your mind and body heal from those experiences, creating space for greater peace, freedom, and hope as you continue your journey forward.
EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress such as stress, anxiety, and embarrassment that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
